With that that’s not to say mind maps aren’t for everyone, and hopefully there are those out there that do well with tools like this. In the end turns out I’m much more of a ‘scribble on a napkin/post it note/white board’ kind of guy. I gave it an honest shot, committed hot keys to memory and could use it pretty quickly but I very rarely found myself in situations where I think I needed a tool like this to help generate ideas. I remember MindNode was a big one for MacOS/iOS and it looks like they’re still around. With that, I haven’t seen a mind map used in years. I remember about 4-5 years ago when everyone jumped on the “productivity” train seemingly out of nowhere, probably in tandem with tech jobs being so prevalent that lots of people were “sharing their workflows” and likely speaking highly of mind maps.
